Sean
Parmenter, Group Parts Manager
Sydney City is home to one of the largest Toyota,
Daihatsu and Lexus parts and accessories operations in Australia.
With over 10,000 lines of Toyota Genuine Parts alone, Sean
Parmenter is confident that Sydney City will be able to meet
almost any need.
Sean has been with us since inception, a bit
uncustomary in this industry. A quiet achiever, its time to
throw this gem into the limelight!
Q: What is your background?
The past 12 years have been spent at Sydney City Toyota. I started as a trainee parts interpreter and worked my way through to what I am doing today – actually started here the day Sydney City Toyota was formed. Spent 2 years before that at Sanderson's Mercedes-Benz where I started washing cars and finished as a service advisor.
Q: What did you want to be growing up?
My first year out of school was spent working for NAB as a teller and drinking too much beer. A crane driver.
Q: What attracted you to a career in the automotive industry?
I fell into it really. But having said that, I think that this is an industry that never stands still and for that reason is quite exciting.
Q: What do you do at Sydney City?
I am the Group Parts Manager heading up the parts division of the company. I am responsible for Toyota, Lexus and Daihatsu.
Q: What has been your greatest achievement?
Becoming a father.
Q: What do you believe has been the main key to your success?
Work out what you want and don’t deviate until you achieved it.

Q: What do you find the most rewarding about working at Sydney City?
Most rewarding would be the challenge of managing the department and the way that it is constantly changing and keeping me on my toes – it is a great thing because it forces you to keep growing. The people are also great.
