LandCruiser Prado's engine options are all-new and all powerful. Each offers Driver Assist Technology in the form of greater torque when you need it. These clean engines are re-engineered and re-calibrated, ahead of their time, to meet yet-to-be-introduced European emissions protocols. And whilst they deliver more power, they produce less nitrogen oxide and other greenhouse gases.

3.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel
Moving up to the 3-litre turbo diesel, enhancements such as electronic fuel injection, an electronic throttle and an EGR valve deliver high performance.

Like the 2.7-litre, Prado's turbo-diesel also meets Step II emission requirements meaning you can step off the main road with the confidence that you're also leading the way in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

4.0-litre Quad Cam VVT-i V6 petrol
The quad-cam 4-litre V6 is totally new and forms part of Driver Assist Technology. It has class leading power.

Toyota's VVT-i variable valve timing technology results in a powerful, fuel-efficient powerplant with cleaner emissions and leaner running costs. Yet it's actually lighter than the 3.4-litre engine it replaces, with fewer moving parts for greater reliability.

Be in control with Prado GXL thanks to the advanced DAT braking system, including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).

Relax in the knowledge that both front seat occupants are protected by smart technology two-stage SRS airbags, whilst passengers are protected with three-point seatbelts for all three rows of seats.

Visibility
With Prado's commanding presence on the road, large swept back frontal glass area and spacious cabin minimising blind spots, you have the best seat in the house for spotting potential hazards on the road.

ABS brakes with EBD and BA
Stay in control during emergency situations with Prado's ABS Anti-lock Braking System. Standard on GXL, with ABS you will never again screech to a stop no matter how heavily you jump on the brake pedal.

Safe-T-Cell
Toyota's Safe-T-Cell is your protective cocoon from the outside - absorbing crash energy and deflecting it away from the cabin to help protect Prado's occupants. For extra collision protection, Prado's 'Dynamic Side Intrusion Protection System' includes strengthening beams in each side door, which form a vital part of the safety system.

SRS airbags
Sensors under the driver's seat notes its position to determine the occupant's distance from the steering wheel and calculates the amount of inflation needed for protective cushioning.
