Buying a New Car

Buying your first car

Whether it's your first vehicle or not, the purchase of a new car is an exciting experience but at the same time a big financial commitment.

How can you ensure that you are going to find your dream car and not be let down? It is crucial that you check a few important factors before driving away with a brand-new vehicle.

1. Safety features

The most important aspect to take into account is the safety of the vehicle itself. Technologies can nowadays play a huge role in ensuring that you drive confidently in your car. In fact, the risk of a car crash is significantly reduced by technologies such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB), airbags, anti-lock brakes, to name a few. Safety features reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and fatalities.

2. Budget

Make sure you are aware of your budget. This will prevent you from wasting a lot of time. Be aware of the hidden costs that might have a big impact on your overall budget, such as sales tax, yearly registration fees, CTP insurance, and so on.

3. Use of the car and personal preferences

Every car is different, as is the use for each person. Van, UTE, pickup, 5-seat, compact sedan... Is your new car right for you? What will you use it for? For example, what’s your lifestyle? Do you have a family, which implies the size of the car is the key factor, or are you a single student and this is your first car that you will drive in the bustling city where finding a car spot is a hard fact? Make sure you have clarity in your mind about what you will use your vehicle for.

Other factors to include in your research can be the performance and fuel consumption.

Good luck with your research!
