Sydney Souths Junior Foundation

Sydney City Toyota Sponsors Souths Juniors

We are thrilled to announce that Sydney City Toyota is now an official sponsor of the Souths Junior Foundation. This exciting partnership allows us to make a positive impact on the lives of junior athletes and the wider community. As a dedicated supporter of youth development, we believe in fostering growth, opportunity, and teamwork.

The idea for a Souths Juniors Foundation has come from a pure grassroots belief that South Sydney District Junior Rugby League Football Club has always been the starting point of developing young kids into champion NRL Rabbitoh players. It is a true family environment when you play for Souths Juniors whether it be at the junior level or as an NRL player. Many remain Souths players for life! The 5 key pillars will be delivered by our Souths Juniors team and our wonderful group of over 700 volunteers. We encourage you to support the Souths Juniors Foundation to help us to evolve and keep developing Champions.

By partnering with the Souths Junior Foundation, we hope to inspire, empower, and encourage these aspiring athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field. Together, we can make a difference and support the dreams of tomorrow's athletes.

Vinnies

In 2023, Sydney City Toyota embarked on an incredible journey by commencing a partnership with Vinnies.

The St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia has more than 45,000 members and volunteers, who work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice across Australia. Internationally, the Society operates in 153 countries and has over 800,000 members.

In a world where solidarity and community support define us, we always seek to contribute to our community's welfare and strengthen it. Going beyond our usual operations, we took a significant leap by supporting Vinnies' appeal, putting up a brand new Toyota Corolla for auction and cooking meals for the less fortunate.

It is heartening to know that our collaborative efforts with Vinnies will continue to do so in the future. With this partnership, we hope to further the cause of community support, recognizing the tremendous efforts that Vinnies and its collaborative team offer on a daily basis.

We look forward to a long, prosperous collaboration with Vinnies, jointly taking strides towards a brighter, stronger community. Because at Sydney City Toyota, we firmly believe in community first.

National Tree Day

Sydney City Toyota's involvement in National Tree Day has been a long term partnership. In 2011, we contributed to planting more than 1 million trees, shrubs and grasses at over 2900 Tree Day events Australia.

National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day combine to make Australia's biggest community tree-planting and nature care event. Co-ordinated by Planet Ark and proudly sponsored by Toyota, these are special days for all Australians to help out by planting and caring for native trees and shrubs to improve the environment in which they live.

National Tree Day was co-founded by Olivia Newton-John and Planet Ark in 1996 and since then more than 2.8 million volunteers have planted over 17 million native trees and shrubs! It's a day to get down and get your hands dirty to help the planet!

Each year, we welcome schools in our community to participate in tree planting by supply seedlings and promotional material to educate and stimulate interest in the environment. If you would like more information or have your school participate in the upcoming National Schools Tree Day in 2025, please contact our Marketing Department.

Mark Hughes Foundation

MHF intro

Sydney City Toyota organises very special mid-winter barbecue to raise much-needed funds and build awareness for the Mark Hughes Foundation for cancer research. Mark, a star footy player with Newcastle and a member of the State of Origin Blues, is a brain cancer survivor – and he’s on a mission to make a huge difference in future studies. The team at Sydney City joined this important initiative to honour the loving memory of our dear friend and colleague, Aykut Bayraktar, whom we lost to this terrible disease. Our fundraiser BBQ is not only to support the Mark Hughes Foundation but also to commemorate the life and fond memories of Aykut who will always be close to our hearts. We are proud to be beanieficiaries!

R U OK? Day

ruok intro

Since 2020, we hold internal seminars and talks to encourage meaningful conversations that could change a life. We are determined to incorporate this concept in our daily lives to check in our friends, colleagues and family and ask R U OK?  In a benchmark move we announced that we’ll be offering
free counselling (up to three sessions) to any of our team members who feel they need support.

R U OK? is a national suicide prevention charity that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times. Their work focuses on building the motivation, confidence and skills of the help-giver – the person who can have a meaningful conversation with someone who is struggling with life. R U OK? contributes to suicide prevention efforts by encouraging people to invest more time in their personal relationships and building the capacity of informal support networks – friends, family and colleagues - to be alert to those around them, have a conversation if they identify signs of distress or difficulty and connect someone to appropriate support, long before they're in crisis.
